Sherry Peters has 45 years of experience working in multiple roles.  Sherry has worked for Sigma7/RSM since 2020 as a subject matter expert and trainer in the areas of mental/behavioral health topics and K_12 Behavioral Threat Assessment.  She also works elsewhere as an Instructor in Youth Mental Health First Aid, a senior consultant with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), an associate and trainer with Coach Approach Partners, LLC, and a member of the Pennsylvania Community of Practice on Trauma.  In the summer of 2019, Sherry served on the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) Threat Assessment Workgroup as well as the PCCD Trauma-Informed Approaches Workgroup.

Sherry retired from Pennsylvania state government in the fall of 2018 where she served for two and a half years as the Bureau Director for Policy, Planning and Program Development in the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) in Pennsylvania’s Department of Human Services.  She had taken a five-and-a-half-year break from an 18-year career in OMHSAS Children’s Bureau to work in a university setting.   She served as an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development’s National Technical Assistance Center for Children’s Mental Health between 2010 and 2016 and continued to serve as adjunct faculty on a variety of projects until 2023.
